Industrial Electronics Technician
Introduction
Industrial Electronics Technician is a Diploma program taught at Nicolet Area Technical College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (2 years) options.
The Industrial Electronics Technician technical diploma prepares students to perform basic installation, maintenance, and repair activities for industrial electronic and mechanical equipment. Students learn industrial safety practices, including lockout/tag out and fault isolation, and they apply electrical principles to solve failures in the field. The program also covers hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, with an introduction to programmable logic controllers for entry-level manufacturing skills.
Learning includes course work across electrical circuits, transformers, hydraulic and pneumatic operation, ladder logic, and PLC fundamentals, plus topics such as sensors and op amps, solid state relays and switching circuits, and three-phase electric motor control. Students also study troubleshooting methods for industrial motor control systems and the use of oscilloscopes to test electronic circuits. The program is designed to be completed in 1 year, and it includes on-campus learning options and online classes, with a flexible pace.
