Masters Programs Cacrep and Mpcac Accreditation

Masters Programs Cacrep and Mpcac Accreditation is a Masters program taught at Oklahoma City University, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

This counseling master’s degree at Oklahoma City University is discussed in terms of CACREP and MPCAC accreditation. CACREP (Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs) and MPCAC (Master’s in Psychology and Counseling Accreditation Council) are described as key sources of accreditation for counseling programs, with a focus on evidence-based training, program consistency, practicum experience, and a path to licensure for counselors-in-training.

For a counseling master’s program to be CACREP or MPCAC accredited, it must meet requirements covering institutional settings, program mission and objectives, program content, practicum experiences, student selection and advising, faculty qualifications and workload, program governance, instructional support, and self-evaluation. MPCAC is described as recognizing 8-week programs, and Oklahoma City University’s model is described with an 8:1 student-to-instructor ratio.

The content also emphasizes that students seeking licensure must meet state licensure requirements, and accreditation does not guarantee licensure. Oklahoma City University encourages applicants to consult their state licensing board. Examples of state topic areas and Oklahoma City University curriculum equivalents include Human growth and development (Personality and Human Development), Professional orientation/ethics (Professional Identity & Ethics), and Research (Research Methods).
