Online Ethics Certificate

The Online Ethics Certificate at Oregon Institute of Technology develops advanced ethical reasoning skills and an ethically relevant knowledge base. It includes required courses in Introduction to Logic and Ethical Theory, plus elective courses chosen from multiple areas such as philosophy, business, communication, history, humanities, literature, and ethics topics including bioethics, medical ethics, AI ethics, and environmental ethics.

The certificate uses required and elective credits: required courses are 6 credits, and elective courses are a minimum of 12 credits, for a total of 18 credits. Electives are offered from the listed options, with the condition that one selected elective must be a 300-level PHIL course. Course completion leads to a formal certificate awarded by Oregon Tech.

Enrollment is available through a non-degree seeking application for students not enrolled in a degree program at Oregon Tech. Non-degree seeking students are limited to 8 credits per term. Oregon Tech does not offer financial aid for this program, and a payment plan is available.
