Introduction

Architecture, BArch, Morphology Concentration is a Bachelor program taught at Pratt Institute, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (5 Years) options.

The Architecture, BArch, Morphology Concentration at Pratt Institute is an undergraduate architecture program built around morphology, the study of forms. Students explore relationships between form and space (geometry, topology), form and force (structural morphology), and form and time (dynamic morphology) through computation, fabrication, construction, and emerging technologies.

The concentration is part of the Center for Experimental Structures (CES). Students participate in ongoing faculty research through assistantships and a special “Research Topics” course. The program uses research projects such as transformational geometries, structural morphology, minimal surfaces, and self-shaping, along with work on design for manufacturing and assembly principles.

The BArch is a professional degree accredited by the National Architecture Accrediting Board (NAAB). The program uses core to advanced design work and includes sample courses such as ARCH-101 Design I, ARCH-102 Design II, ARCH-111 Representation 1, ARCH-112 Representation 2, and ARCH-131 Technics.
