Archives, Advanced Certificate is a program taught at Pratt Institute, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
The Archives, Advanced Certificate prepares students to become archivists. Students use archival principles and practices to collect, manage, preserve, and provide access to records with enduring value, including records created by individuals, families, and organizations, in analog and digital formats. The certificate frames archives as memory institutions that support scholarly, historical, legal, genealogical, and personal research.
The program is offered as graduate coursework in the School of Information. It can be taken within the School of Information’s M.S. in Library and Information Science, or as a post-master’s program. For the post-master’s program, applicants submit an online application form, a nonrefundable application fee, official transcripts uploaded online at application, a statement of purpose online (approximately two pages), a current résumé online, and two letters of recommendation requested online.
