Introduction

Educational Leadership, EdD is a PhD program taught at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, USA. Intake: fall. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

The Educational Leadership, EdD at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania is a cohort doctoral program delivered in partnership with Millersville University for working professionals. Students study executive leadership, communication theory for school district administrators, emergent technologies and instructional practices, and the political and social context for educational leadership.

The program combines blended face-to-face, residency-based instruction, online and hybrid models. Face-to-face foundation classes meet on Saturdays at Central Penn in Harrisburg once a month over the course of the semester, and field-based residency courses require work in a school district and/or organization with group seminars and professional learning community sessions.

Students can earn a Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility certification through completion of the residency courses. If they already have that certification, their 18 credits for the residency are waived.
