Introduction

Economics is a Bachelor program taught at Southern Oregon State College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

The Economics BA/BS at Southern Oregon State College is offered as a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science major. It helps students think critically about economic issues they encounter in daily life and develop engagement with policy issues in local, national, and global communities. Students study economic concepts and techniques within a liberal arts environment and complete a major plus options including a minor and the Certificate in Applied Finance and Economics (CAFE) jointly with the Business School.

The program includes a capstone experience required for all Economics majors. Students complete core economics coursework, select electives, and apply quantitative research methods and statistics through the capstone. The capstone is done in a small class environment and requires extensive professional academic writing on challenging economic issues. Students participate in community-based learning endeavors through placements, and international exchange is supported for faculty and students.
