The Health & Exercise Science BA/BS with a Health & Physical Education Teaching Concentration prepares students planning to enter the Master in Teaching program at Southern Oregon State College to earn certification in Oregon to teach health, physical education, or both. The concentration is designed to prepare students to teach grades K-12 in physical education and health and to coach in a variety of settings.

Students are engaged in learning experiences in classrooms, labs, and with varied diverse populations. The curriculum includes courses in Biology, Community and Environmental Health, and Leadership and Management, plus lifetime, leisure, and recreational sport courses. Internship components are integrated into the curriculum, and the undergraduate capstone focuses on reflection and integrating interests with concepts from Health and Exercise Science.
