Bachelor's in Sociology and Anthropology
Introduction
Sociology and Anthropology is a Bachelor program taught at Southern Oregon State College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.
Sociology and Anthropology BA/BS at Southern Oregon State College helps students develop analytic skills and research techniques for understanding identity, behavior, culture, power, and social change. Students study sociology, including the social causes and consequences of human behavior, and anthropology, including human culture across times and places. Coursework emphasizes practical application of skills to social questions and builds a critical, historical, and comparative perspective.
Students complete foundation courses and a social research methods sequence, then culminate their work in a senior capstone. The capstone is a year-long capstone experience designed and carried out under faculty supervision, using individual projects of students’ own design. Learning happens both in and out of the classroom, and the program includes practical experiences that prepare students for careers and graduate education.
