Introduction

Option Immersion française intégrée is a program taught at Southwest Georgia Technical College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (1 à 2 ans) options.

The Option immersion française intégrée at Université Sainte-Anne lets students complete a program and improve their French at the same time. French as a Second Language courses (FRLS) can be credited toward earning the student’s diploma. The option is for students who already have a level of French skills (for example, B1 on the CECRL) and who want to further develop their French.

Placement starts with a placement test that assigns students to FRLS courses suited to their level (intermediate or advanced). Each level corresponds to a semester, and students take five courses per semester: three FRLS and two courses within their program. A certain number of FRLS courses replace elective courses, depending on the chosen program.

Students must sign an agreement to speak only in French, with French required at all times once the agreement is signed. Students are housed in residence or a residence section reserved for students of the option, and they also get access to a postsecondary academic support center. After acquiring 15 credits at the advanced level, students receive a certificate, with an option to take the DELF (B2) for FRLS skills.
