Business Administration

Business Administration is a Diploma program taught at Southwestern Community College, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (Two-year programs) options.

Southwestern Community College offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in Business Administration. Students study business administration through a general education core and specific coursework in business, accounting, economics, management, and law. Sample courses include Principles of Accounting I and II, Introduction to Business, Introduction to Computers, Comprehensive Spreadsheets, Business Law I and II, Principles of Management, Macroeconomics and Microeconomics, Fundamentals of Oral Communication, Pre-Employment Strategies, Principles of Marketing, and Business Problem Solving.

The program includes training for workplace entry with an emphasis on applying basic principles, theories, and occupational skills. The Associate of Applied Science degree is described as a two-year program. Options related to the area include a certificate awarded after completing a select group of career courses in a four- to six-month format, and a Business Leadership Certificate designed for working professionals preparing for leadership positions in government, business, or not-for-profit organizations.

Graduates are positioned for careers listed for banking, financial management, insurance, marketing, purchasing, tourism, government, accounting, and starting a business as an owner. If you plan to transfer to a four-year college or university for a bachelor’s degree, an Associate of Arts degree with a business major is recommended.
