Introduction

Emergency Medical Science is a program taught at St Charles Community College, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

The Associate of Applied Science degree in Emergency Medical Science (EMS) is a completion degree designed to help students enhance their current, valid paramedic license. The A.A.S. supports paramedics seeking promotion within the fire & EMS industries and is designed to develop communication and critical-thinking skills.

SCC grants 30 credit hours toward the A.A.S. in Emergency Medical Science for students who submit proof of passing the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Exam for paramedics. Credit hours are applied once all general education courses have been completed, and students may begin taking the required general education courses at SCC at any time. The degree is based on formal agreements between St. Charles Community College (SCC) and Respond Right EMS Academy (REMSA), as well as an agreement between SCC and St. Charles County Ambulance District (SCCAD).
