Master's in Educational Studies
Introduction
Educational Studies is a Masters program taught at State University of New York at Binghamton, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (1–2 years) options.
The Master of Science in Educational Studies is for people interested in the general study of education who are not seeking certification to teach. It fits professionals in school non-teaching roles and professionals who work with students or schools through human service agencies. It also serves teachers who want a master’s degree in education in a subject area other than the certification areas offered by Binghamton University.
The program is offered on campus and online. It consists of 36 credits, with at least 4 credits in each of the educational areas: foundations of education, teaching and learning, and research. Students work closely with a faculty advisor to select courses and develop an individualized course of study. The program culminates in a research-based master’s paper or project, and if the student is teaching, the final project could include a reflective portfolio and curricular materials.
