Introduction

The Applied Kinesiology B.S. / Athletic Training M.S. 3+2 program is an accelerated pathway that combines an undergraduate applied kinesiology program with a graduate athletic training program. In the undergraduate program, classes cover anatomy and physiology, exercise physiology, biomechanics, psychology, patient assessment, medical terminology, and injury management, with an emphasis on current research and practical application.

Admission into the undergraduate applied kinesiology program is available only to first year students in the Fall semester. To advance into the Master’s program, students must complete their three year curriculum with a GPA of 3.0+ and earn a C or higher in key courses. In the Master’s program, students should expect daily on-campus coursework, and clinical experiences may be on or off campus, including evening, weekend, and preseason obligations, with a requirement that graduate participants do not participate in intercollegiate athletics at SUNY Cortland.
