Art Studio: Bachelor of Fine Arts
Introduction
The Art Studio: Bachelor of Fine Arts is an intensive studio art degree. The program prepares students for a professional career in art and also for specialized graduate study, especially the Master of Fine Arts. Students study sculpture, ceramics, painting and drawing, two-dimensional design, printmaking, fiber art, and digital art.
Teaching takes place in modern studios with small, engaging classes. The program includes a two-semester senior thesis project that serves as a culminating experience. Students develop a cohesive body of work from concept to exhibition, with a written abstract and an oral presentation. Summer international study programs, internships, and a visiting artists and lecturers program are available, along with student clubs and cooperative work-study.
