Bachelor's in Physics leading to the 3+2 Engineering Program
Introduction
The Physics leading to the 3+2 Engineering Program is a Bachelor of Science pathway that combines physics study with transfer to an engineering school. You spend three years at SUNY Cortland taking the requirements for a degree in physics, then transfer for two years to complete the requirements for a degree in engineering.
The program emphasizes applied mathematics and advanced computer skills. You work with sophisticated science instrumentation in classrooms and teaching laboratories, and you also study and work in a 41-seat digital projection planetarium. You can collaborate with faculty in original research.
It leads to a complete degree after finishing your engineering portion. Career outcomes listed include graduate work in engineering, technical specialist roles, professional engineer roles, and positions in the construction industry.
