Nursing Major (BSN)
Introduction
Nursing Major (BSN) is a Bachelor program taught at State University of New York College at Brockport, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.
The Nursing Major (BSN) at SUNY Brockport is a traditional nursing program that combines a rigorous academic curriculum with clinical experiences guided by dedicated faculty members. Students practice in a simulation lab using safe test environments to rehearse real-world procedures, including drawing blood. The program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and registered with the New York State Department of Education.
Acceptance by the university does not guarantee progression into the nursing major. Progression is competitive and requires a separate application process submitted during the applicant’s sophomore year. Students engage in both classroom and clinical experiences in the Rochester area. There is also an opportunity to learn in Costa Rica and Peru.
After completing the BSN, graduates work in roles including positions in trauma centers, community hospitals, schools, occupational health, hospice care, and in-home care. Many graduates continue to graduate-level programs, including a doctoral nursing program in SUNY, and pursue careers as nurse practitioners, nurse educators, nurse researchers, nurse midwives, and nurse anesthesiologists.
