Medical Assistant CERT

Medical Assistant CERT is a program taught at Sullivan County Community College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

The Medical Assistant Certificate program at Sullivan County Community College prepares individuals for work in doctors’ offices, medical centers, clinics, and other health care facilities. Students study medical office administration and procedures and also learn specialized medical knowledge and skills used to assist with patient care. The program includes medical terminology and abbreviations, routine administrative, clinical, and laboratory tasks, and medical office management.

Coursework covers topics such as Intro to Anatomy & Physiology/Lab, The Administrative Medical Assistant, Medical Assisting II & Lab, Medical Terminology for Medical Assisting, Basic Pharmacology, Health Care Law & Ethics, and Physical Fitness & Wellness. Students also complete Basic Phlebotomy/EKG and Phlebotomy Lab for Med Assist, and they complete Advanced First Aid & CPR. The program culminates with the Medical Assistant Externship to apply knowledge in a clinical setting.

The minimum requirements for admission in Medical Assistant CERT at Sullivan County Community College for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:
