MA Model United Nations
Introduction
MA Model United Nations is a Masters program taught at Troy University, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
The Southeast Alabama Model United Nations Assembly hosted by the Wiregrass Writing Project and the Southeast Alabama Regional Inservice Center at Troy University lets students experience the United Nations firsthand. Each delegation represents a different nation and decides important issues that affect the world. Each delegation is limited to 7 students.
Delegates follow event participation rules that include dressing in the native dress of their nation and making a nation flag from fabric, foam, or felt with required dimensions and a stick attachment. The opening session includes a roll call, where one delegate gives a 30-second welcome in the native tongue and a second delegate interprets in English. Special recognition is awarded for native dress, delegates, resolution, delegation, and flag/presentations.
Participation is open to students in grades 6, 7, or 8. The cost includes materials, badges, placards, and lunches, with additional fees for advisors and on-site parents.
