Introduction

Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics, Ph.D. is a PhD program taught at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics (MS) is a graduate program in aerospace engineering and mechanics that can be completed through coursework on an on-campus program or through off-campus distance learning through the Office of Teaching Innovation and Digital Education. Students complete either coursework only or a combination of coursework and an approved thesis, depending on the degree option.

Students choose two core courses: one from Mechanics and one from Mathematics. Mechanics core options are AEM 500, AEM 546, or AEM 562, and Mathematics core options are GES 551, GES 554, or AEM 548. The thesis option includes AEM 599 Thesis Research plus a committee-approved thesis with an oral defense and written document, while the non-thesis option uses additional elective coursework.

Modules

  • AEM 500 Intermediate Fluid Mechanics
  • AEM 546 Intermediate Solid Mechanics
  • AEM 562 Intermediate Dynamics
  • GES 551 Matrix And Vector Analysis
  • GES 554 Partial Diff Equations
  • AEM 548 Stochastic Mechanics
  • AEM 599 Thesis Research
  • AEM 593
  • AEM 594
