The Manderson MBA program at The University of Alabama emphasizes fundamental business concepts, knowledge, and skills through an interdisciplinary perspective. Students study accounting, economics, finance, management, marketing, operations, strategy, communications, information systems, and statistics. The program uses case studies, projects, teamwork, and technology to support applied learning.

MBA students must complete co-curricular opportunities to satisfy degree requirements, and progress toward the co-curricular requirement is tracked throughout the program. The Traditional MBA is a full-time, two-year program entered after an undergraduate degree and begins in the fall semester, with four consecutive Fall and Spring semesters. During the intervening summer periods, students are expected to complete meaningful internships.

In addition to the Traditional MBA, the program offers STEM, BIZ, and CREATE Paths to the MBA as five-year programs integrated with undergraduate disciplines. The STEM Path includes Business Honors courses that focus on communication and leadership skills, team community projects, and instruction using digital technology such as streaming video, teleconferencing, and course management software. STEM MBA students take online courses in summer periods and then enter an in-person portion to complete the degree.
