Chemical Engineering, Ph.D.
Introduction
Chemical Engineering, Ph. D. is a PhD program taught at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (one to two years) options.
Chemical Engineering, MS covers basic subjects for chemical engineers, including thermodynamics, transport phenomena, kinetics, and applied mathematics, plus coursework tailored to student interest. Students choose between a thesis-based track (Plan I) and a non-thesis track (Plan II).
In Plan I, students conduct innovative, original research in faculty-run labs and complete a thesis. They also pass a final comprehensive examination, typically a presentation and defense of the thesis. In Plan II, students complete specialized coursework and a capstone experience that includes a faculty research presentation and a mentored grading experience.
