Music, Professional is a program taught at West Valley College, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

The Associate in Arts in Music, Professional is designed for students seeking to transfer to baccalaureate programs in Instrumental Performance, Vocal Performance, Music Education, Jazz Performance, Music for Media Writing, Music Industry Studies, and General Music Studies. It prepares students to transfer to a School of Music or conservatory to pursue a BA, BM, or BFA in Music.

Students take major core requirements including Music History: Classical, Romantic and Contemporary Periods, Music Theory Level 1, and Musicianship Levels, plus Intermediate Piano and Applied Music choices such as Brass, Woodwind, Strings, Percussion, Piano, Guitar, and Voice.

The program also includes Digital Audio and Notation and ensemble options such as Concert Choir, Symphony Orchestra, and Symphonic Band.

Audition is required for admission to large ensembles and the Applied Music program, and students may need classes during Winter and/or Summer intersessions to complete the program, including transfer GE requirements, in two years.

The minimum requirements for admission in Music, Professional at West Valley College for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by West Valley College.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by West Valley College as pre-requiste for admission in Music, Professional.

Audition is required for admission to large ensembles (MUSC 042, 048, 049), and the Applied Music program (MUSC 039A–G). Admission is based on the skill level and likelihood the student will be able to meet transfer audition requirements two years hence.

• Musical Theater Singer: Broadway, Off-Broadway, Touring Shows, National, Regional, Local, Concerts and Recitals: Performer, Producer, Floor Shows (Hotels, Casinos, Clubs), and Band Member (Vocalist).
