The Bachelor of Science in Data Science is a joint program between the Gordon Ford College of Business and the Ogden College of Science and Engineering. It merges computer science, statistics, business data analytics, and economics. Students take theoretical coursework and hands-on projects that apply data science skills to real-world problem-solving and informed decision-making.

The degree includes a core set of classes plus at least one concentration in a related discipline, which can also lead to a certificate or a minor. Students study programming, database management, statistical analysis, and machine learning techniques, and they learn data visualization to communicate insights to technical and non-technical audiences. A capstone project uses a data-driven approach to tackle a real-world problem under faculty mentoring.
