Healthcare & Nursing at Western Nevada College includes three pathways: Registered Nursing, Health Sciences, and Laboratory Technician - Phlebotomy. Students in the Registered Nursing pathway prepare nurses to support Nevada’s growing population, while Health Sciences helps pre-nursing students complete prerequisites and transition into the nursing program. The Laboratory Technician - Phlebotomy pathway prepares students for certification preparation in collecting blood specimens.

The program includes an Associate of Applied Science in Registered Nursing and an Associate of Applied Science in Health Science. For Laboratory Technician - Phlebotomy, Western Nevada College offers industry certification preparation for Laboratory technician Phlebotomy (LTE). Students can complete prerequisite requirements first, and many pre-nursing students enroll in the health science degree while completing those requirements.

Career information includes nursing and healthcare roles, with graduates described as going to work in local hospitals or medical facilities. For the Laboratory Technician - Phlebotomy pathway, the role described is phlebotomists who collect blood specimens using skin puncture or venipuncture procedures and follow strict policies and safety precautions.
