Art Education BA is a Bachelor program taught at Whitworth College, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
The Art Education BA at Whitworth College prepares you to become a teacher. You take studio classes to develop artistic skills in areas such as painting, ceramics, and printmaking. You also take education classes and gain hands-on experience in real K-12 classrooms, building toward a teaching endorsement.
Instruction includes small studio classes with individual guidance from faculty. You can also work as a teaching assistant for extra experience teaching painting, drawing, ceramics, or digital art. Your BA includes student teaching with a successful art teacher in a local school, and you can present work in junior and senior exhibitions by organizing, hanging, and publicizing an art show.
The program includes opportunities outside the classroom, such as joining the Artists' Cooperative to organize workshops, art fairs, and mini excursions. Faculty-led off-campus study programs include trips to museums and galleries, including programs such as British Culture through the Arts, Power & Politics of Art, History & Art in Rome, Early Christian Sites in Greece, and Art & Architecture in Chicago.
