Allopathic Medicine
Introduction
Allopathic Medicine is a program taught at Wittenberg University, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
Allopathic Medicine at Wittenberg University prepares students for the traditional medical degree. Allopathic physicians take patient histories, order laboratory tests, read x-rays, diagnose illness or the extent of an injury, and prescribe medications. After additional hands-on training in a specialty area, they perform tasks that correspond to their residency or fellowship training.
The curriculum includes basic science coursework such as gross anatomy, neuroscience, histology, and biochemistry, followed by supervised clinical rotations in a hospital or family practice setting with hands-on work with patients. After medical school, residency begins and varies by the chosen specialty field.
