Master of Arts in Education
Introduction
Master of Arts in Education is a Masters program taught at Wittenberg University, USA. Intake: summer and fall. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (2 years (6 semesters)) options.
The Master of Arts in Education at Wittenberg University has two tracks: the leadership track and the reading track. Both tracks include the same core and research-based classes and finish with a research thesis or project. The leadership track is for educators who want administrative roles and may pursue principal licensure. The reading track supports students’ reading development and is aimed at participants who have already completed their Reading Endorsement.
Courses are offered online, with synchronous and asynchronous discussions. Students use hands-on research and team projects, supported by highly experienced faculty. Cohorts begin in summer and fall, and students progress through the program together. The estimated time to completion is 2 years, with progression through 6 semesters, with attendance year-round.
Students can pursue an option to add principal licensure. Principal licensure pathways include transferring required leadership courses and completing additional principal licensure courses, or completing principal licensure courses at the end of the Master’s degree when leadership-focused. Principal licensure requires a Master’s degree, a current professional teaching license, and at least two years of experience as a classroom teacher, or an alternative combination involving a Master’s degree, professional pupil services license, and two years of related work experience.
