Educational Studies
Introduction
Educational Studies is a program taught at Wittenberg University, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
Educational Studies is a major at Wittenberg University. It is designed to build a knowledge base and skills for work in different educational settings, especially non-certified public and private environments such as businesses, non-profits, and policy. It also supports pathways that include Peace Corps work, graduate school (including graduate-level teacher licensure programs), and alternative teacher credentialing programs such as Teach for America, AmeriCorps, and urban residency programs.
The program centers on intellectual inquiry, creativity, calling, and service, with an emphasis on social justice implications for access to schooling and education. It is intended for students interested in teaching and learning across different contexts and settings, but not interested in completing a full credentialing program to teach in public schools. It also complements other majors and minors.
