Bachelor of Science Honours in Biotechnology Hbscbiotec is a Bachelor program taught at Bindura University of Science Education, Zimbabwe. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

The Bachelor of Science Honours in Biotechnology (HBScBioTec) combines cell biology and chemistry to create solutions to medicine, agriculture, and energy problems. It includes fundamental teaching in life sciences and explores current industry issues with a focus on commercially oriented outcomes. The programme also introduces students to the use of AI and bioinformatics in solving big data problems in health, agriculture and industry.

The degree is full time (Conventional) and runs in 4 years. It includes course assessment, experiments, and exams, plus an industrial placement in the third year. In the final year, students complete an independent research project. The programme covers topics such as microbiology, biotechnology regulation and biosafety, molecular biology, biostatistics, bioinformatics, and biotechnology research.

The minimum requirements for admission in Bachelor of Science Honours in Biotechnology Hbscbiotec at Bindura University of Science Education for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Bindura University of Science Education as pre-requiste for admission in Bachelor of Science Honours in Biotechnology Hbscbiotec.

Normal Entry: At least five ‘O’ Level subjects including English Language AND Mathematics with a Grade C or better.

Two (2) Advanced Level passes in Biology and Chemistry and a third subject which could be physics or mathematics.

Special Entry: National Diploma (ND) in Biotechnology, or its equivalent plus a minimum of two (2) years relevant post qualification experience.

OR

Higher National Diploma (HND) in Biotechnology or its equivalent
