Bachelor of Agricultural Science Honours Degree Animal Science and Technology

Bachelor of Agricultural Science Honours Degree Animal Science and Technology is a Bachelor program taught at Bindura University of Science Education, Zimbabwe. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

The Bachelor of Agricultural Science Honours Degree (Animal Science and Technology) prepares students for professional careers in animal production, animal breeding, nutrition, and health. The programme covers fundamental and applied biology aspects of animal science, supported by related areas such as agricultural economics, statistics, agricultural education and extension, computer science, plant science, and soil science.

The degree is structured in four parts. Part I includes courses such as Introduction to Animal Science, Introduction to Statistics for Agriculture, and Practical Agricultural Management I and II. Part II focuses on topics like Principles of Animal Production, Research Methods in Agriculture, and Principles of Animal Nutrition. Part III includes a Research Project and an Attachment. Part IV includes modules such as Animal Nutrition, Post-harvest Crop Management, and Rangeland Animal Production.

The minimum requirements for admission in Bachelor of Agricultural Science Honours Degree Animal Science and Technology at Bindura University of Science Education for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by Bindura University of Science Education.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Bindura University of Science Education as pre-requiste for admission in Bachelor of Agricultural Science Honours Degree Animal Science and Technology.

All applicants have to meet the following minimum requirements for admission prescribed under the general regulations (i.e.):

• Have obtained at least five Ordinary Level subject passes including English Language and Mathematics passed with a grade C or better
• Passes at Advanced Level in at least two subjects as follows:
• Category 1: Any two of the following, Biology, Agriculture, Chemistry, Physics and Food Science.
• Category 2: Either Mathematics or Geography in addition to any one subject in Category 1.
