Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Software Engineering

Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Software Engineering is a Bachelor program taught at Bindura University of Science Education, Zimbabwe. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years full time study) options.

The Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Software Engineering at Bindura University of Science Education prepares students to design, develop, and deliver software solutions. Students study software development tools, methodologies, and technologies, with training in coding and software architecture. The programme also covers how functional software applications and platforms can be built for everyday devices and systems.

The programme runs over four years of full-time study, with two semesters per year. Taught courses are offered during the first two years and the final year, while the third academic year is reserved for Industrial Attachment. Students complete final research projects and include a Mini Software Group Project, with modules such as Software Engineering Fundamentals, Requirements Engineering, and Software Project Management.

The minimum requirements for admission in Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Software Engineering at Bindura University of Science Education for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by Bindura University of Science Education.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Bindura University of Science Education as pre-requiste for admission in Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Software Engineering.

All applicants have to meet the following minimum requirements for admission prescribed under the general regulations (i.e.):

• Students should have a pass in either ‘A’ Level Mathematics, Computer Science/Computing and any one of the following ‘A’ Level subjects Physics, Accounting, Economics, Management of Business/Business Studies, Biology, Chemistry or any other relevant subject, and
• At least 5 ‘O’ Levels including Mathematics and English Language with a Grade C or better.
• Special entry will be granted to Candidates without ‘A’ Levels but are holders of the HEXCO National Diploma in Computer Studies or Information Technology or their equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Mature entry will be granted to candidates at least 23 years old AND have at least 2 years relevant industrial experience.
