Master of Science Degree in Sports Science

Master of Science Degree in Sports Science is a Masters program taught at Bindura University of Science Education, Zimbabwe. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (1 and 1/2 Years) options.

The Master of Science Degree in Sports Science at Bindura University of Science Education builds advanced skills and knowledge for high performance sport. Students study research and scientific foundations through modules such as Research Methods in Sport, Biochemistry of Exercise, Sport and Exercise Psychology, Sport and Exercise Physiology, and Biomechanics in Sport and Exercise. Further modules cover performance analysis and coaching technologies, Laboratory Techniques in Sport Science, Theory and Methodology of Sports Training, Sport and Exercise Nutrition, Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, and more.

The programme is delivered across Level I Semester I and Level I Semester II, with modules organized into lectures, practical work, and tutorials. In Level II, students complete a Dissertation and Sports Science Practicum. The programme has a duration of 1 and 1/2 Years and a minimum credit load of 325 with a maximum credit load of 375. It leads to Doctoral Studies in Sports Science.

The minimum requirements for admission in Master of Science Degree in Sports Science at Bindura University of Science Education for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by Bindura University of Science Education.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Bindura University of Science Education as pre-requiste for admission in Master of Science Degree in Sports Science.

Applicants must have:

• A Sport-Related Bachelor of Science Honours Degree with a 2.2 grade or better.
• OR
• A Sport-Related appropriate Bachelor of Science Honours Degrees with passes lower than 2.2 and least two years relevant working experience.

Special Entry:

• A candidate must have a General Sport-related Bachelor of Science Degree or a Non-sport Degree, relevant professional qualifications from a recognized Academic Institution or Sports Federation or institution of similar status and at least two years of relevant professional working experience.
