Daiohs Memorial Foundation Scholarships for International Students in Japan, 2018

Scholarship Description: Applications are invited for The Daiohs Memorial Foundation Scholarships to study master and doctoral degree programme. This scholarship is open to International students.

This Foundation aims to contribute to the creation of a social environment in which all people can work safely and lively.  Specifically, it is aimed at granting scholarships to students or researchers, subsidizing research activities at universities and research institutes, etc. that are being investigated and researched according to the purpose of the foundation, promoting the dissemination and enlightenment of the social environment I would like to work diligently.

Scholarship Provider: The University of Tokyo abbreviated as Todai or UTokyo, is a public research university located in Bunkyo, Tokyo, often cited as the most prestigious university in Japan. Academic Ranking of World Universities ranked the University of Tokyo 1st in Asia and 20th in the world in 2012.

Degree Level: Scholarships are available to study Master and Doctoral degree programme.

Available Subject: Scholarships are awarded to learn any of the subjects offered by the university.

Scholarship Benefits: Amount: 10,000 JPY/month

Duration: April 2018 – up to standard study period

Eligible Nationalities: This scholarship is open to International students.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for this scholarship you must meet the following requirements:

(1) International students studying in a master or doctoral course who are 38 years old or younger, as of April 2nd.
(2) Students who are motivated to make their dream come true, and are able to attend events organized by the foundation two times in a year.
(3) Those who need a financial support.
(4) Those who are physically and mentally fit.
(5) Those who are able to explain their research in Japanese.

Application Procedure: Applicants must submit the following documents to ILO. Application Form should be printed on the single page and should not be stapled.

(1) Application Form for Scholarship from private Foundations, 1 original
(2) Transcript of your current program, or of your previous program (if you have not obtained any credits in the current program), 1 original
(3) Application form and research plan
(4) Photo (4x3cm)
(5) Certificate of Enrollment
(6) Recommendation letter from your supervisor
(7) Official income certificate for your household of last year.
