Engineering PhD Scholarships for International Students in UK 2014
The School of Engineering and Informatics invites applications for six Doctoral Scholarships, three in the Department of Engineering & Design and three in the Department of Informatics. The scholarships are for either topic-specific projects (outlined below) or research projects proposed by applicants.
Applications are invited for PhD scholarships within the Department of Engineering and Design and Department of Informatics at University of Sussex. Total six PhD scholarships are awarded (three each for both the Departments) for the UK, EU and international (Non-UK/EU) students. Scholarships include a three-year stipend (£13,726 per annum) plus full-time fees at UK/EU rates. Applicants should have at least a 2:1 Bachelors degree relevant to their area of study. Application deadline is 14th February 2014.
- Scholarships are awarded within the Department of Engineering & Design and Informatics. The scholarships are for either topic-specific projects (outlined below) or research projects proposed by applicants. Projects proposed by applicants must fit within the areas of research in the School; applicants with interests that span both Departments are particularly welcome. In the Department of Engineering & Design the topic-specific projects are: -Modelling charge carrier dynamics in novel high-energy resolution semiconductor detectors for future X-ray space telescopes -Towards the in-orbit demonstration of novel semiconductor radiation detectors on a CubeSat mission -Analysis of coupled forced and self-excited vibrations in rotating machines -Impact response analysis of lightweight structures incorporating novel design features.
- Scholarships are available for pursuing PhD degree level at University of Sussex in UK.
Eligibility: –Applicants should have at least a 2:1 Bachelors degree relevant to their area of study. -Available to UK, Europe (Non-UK) and International (Non-UK/EU) students.
- UK, EU and international students can apply for these scholarships.
- Six PhD scholarships will be offered (three in the Department of Engineering & Design and three in the Department of Informatics).
- These PhD scholarships will be awarded for three years.
- PhD scholarships include £13,726 per annum stipend plus full-time fees at UK/EU rates.
- Successful applicants will be notified by April/May 2014.
