About this program

Bachelor of Sport Studies at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences leads to the degree title Bachelor of Sports Studies and to the qualification of Sports Instructor (liikunnanohjaaja AMK). The programme is in Sports Coaching and Management. Graduates work in instruction, coaching and training, and may also take specialist, supervisory, administrative and development assignments.

The first two years consist of intensive contact studies at Haaga-Helia UAS Vierumäki Campus. Students gain professional competencies and practical experience during this stage. The third year is reserved for a 30 ECTS work placement and a 10 ECTS thesis.

Haaga-Helia says the degree programme is international. It includes guest lecturers, projects abroad with the International Ice Hockey Federation, and on-campus exchange students. Graduates often find employment during their work placement in a sports club or a national sports organisation.
