Master of Science in Computer Science

The Master of Science in Computer Science at Université Clermont Auvergne has an international track focused on preparing decision and data scientists. Students study fundamentals through core courses in Fundamentals of Optimization, Algorithms and Complexity, Machine Learning and Data Mining, and a Seminar Series. They complete a master’s thesis at Research Laboratory LIMOS, alongside one specialization in either decision science or data science.

The program includes a five-to-six month internship in an academic research institute or an industrial research-and-development department anywhere in the world. The specialization options cover topics such as optimization, algorithms, and uncertainty for decision science, or high performance computing, advanced machine learning and data mining, knowledge representation and reasoning, mobile networks and mobile data collection, and information system security for data science.

Entering students are expected to either already hold or be half-way through completion of a master's degree in mathematical sciences, computer science, or related fields.

• University Clermont Auvergne offers several merit-based scholarships for high-caliber students enrolled in the M.S. International Track, with a preference given to students interested in pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree.
