Sciences Po Emile Boutmy Scholarship

Sciences Po created the Émile Boutmy scholarship to welcome international students from outside the European Union. The Émile Boutmy scholarship fund is supported by sponsors (benefactors, companies, and foundations) who enable international students to study at Sciences Po. Private sponsors may be in direct contact with scholarship holders during official organised events.

The Émile Boutmy scholarship is aimed at first time applicants to Sciences Po who are from a non-European Union state and whose household does not file taxes within the European Union, and who have been admitted to the Undergraduate or Master’s programme. It covers admitted students in those eligible programmes at Sciences Po.

Selection is based on merit and on the type of profile sought for the programme. The allocation of the scholarship is linked to the admissions process, and excellence criteria are evaluated solely as part of the application review.

Support is provided as tuition fee exemptions: undergraduates receive an exemption total or an exemption of €9,500 from tuition fees, and Master’s recipients receive a €18,500 exemption from tuition fees for each of the two years of the Master’s programme. Scholarship amounts can be adjusted on admission or recalculated yearly in line with tuition fee increases. If you do not validate your academic year, or if you defer admission (where stated), your scholarship is lost. During the year abroad, recipients retain their tuition fee grant, and the scholarship is automatically renewed for students continuing graduate studies at Sciences Po at Master’s level.
