Sophie Germain Scholarships , France ( Masters and PhD Opportunities)

The FMJH offers the Sophie Germain Scholarships through two application calls per academic year. The first call runs from October to the end of January and is designed to encourage incoming mobility within the Paris-Saclay perimeter, with eligibility limited to students from outside that perimeter. The second call runs from March to early June and concerns students already studying within the Paris-Saclay perimeter (“interns”).

The scholarships are intended for students wishing to register for a Master’s degree in “Mathematics and Applications” (M1 or M2) at the University of Paris-Saclay or the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, specifically within one of the “research” courses listed in the online application form. All applications are examined impartially and without discrimination based on geographical origin, and the jury pays particular attention to the proportion of female prizewinners.

Selection is based on academic criteria supported by transcripts and letters of recommendation. Letters of recommendation are automatically requested from referees once the applicant’s application has been validated. Results are sent by e-mail to successful candidates approximately 5 weeks after the closing date for applications.

For administrative registration, scholarship applicants must submit an online application at the same time for the chosen program, either on the Université Paris-Saclay website or on the Institut Polytechnique de Paris website, depending on the programme concerned. Acceptance of this application is compulsory for administrative enrolment in one of the two institutions.
