Scholarships for study abroad or in other German federal states are not included.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the SBW Berlin Scholarship, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Required Language: English
- Eligible Countries: All countries
- Age Limit: 18-30 years old
- Applicants should be either:
- Before the start of their university education, or
- Fully enrolled in the first, second, or max. third semester at a state-recognized university (in Germany or abroad), or
- Applying for a Master’s degree shortly before or after obtaining a Bachelor’s degree
- Average grades equivalent to a German grade point average of at least 2.0
- Applicants with relatively low net income, where the total household income does not exceed the average income officially stated for their home country
- Extra-curricular activities experience, especially in the non-profit sector
How to Apply
Follow these application instructions to apply for the SBW Berlin Scholarship:
- Fill in the application form.
- Provide personal and contact information and attach your photograph.
- Share information about your current and previous education.
- Include details about your parents, household members, certificates, degrees, occupation, desired career, training, internships, skills, hobbies, interests, travel abroad experiences, and volunteering experiences.
- Include the following documents:
- Motivation letter (1 or 2 pages long)
- Copy of your last school or university certificate showing your grade point average and a grade overview
- Copy of your highest academic degree (high school diploma or university certificate) with your grade point average and a grade overview
- If available, copies of university admission or evidence of qualification for university entrance, and an internationally recognized language certificate for the language of instruction
- All previous work, training, apprenticeship, and internship certificates and references
- If you’ve already started studying, include all obtained university certificates and records of achievements (graded and ungraded)
- Submit the application and enclosed documents in German or English via email to [email protected].
The final decision on scholarship awards for the upcoming semester will be communicated at the beginning of February or August each year.
