Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen offers a Bachelor’s degree program in Railway Engineering to prepare students for careers in planning, design, construction, and maintenance of railway systems, including tracks, overhead contact lines, signaling and safety systems, and telecommunications. The program is divided into basic studies, main studies, and advanced studies, with a total of 180 credit points.
In the introductory semesters, students study mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, mechanics, and computer science. The main course covers railway infrastructure, while the advanced course lets students choose one specialization: civil engineering, electrical engineering, information technology, or communications engineering. Students complete excursions, exercises, practical courses, group work, railway projects, a vocational practical phase, and a bachelor thesis with colloquium.
The Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen also offers a dual study option (is+i) at the Friedberg campus. It combines lectures during the lecture period with practical experience at a partner company during semester breaks, with independent study at the partner company to apply university knowledge in practice.
