Environment PhD

Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus - Senftenberg offers the “Environmental and Resource Management” PhD as an integrated approach to current national and international environmental issues. Students study environmental and resource management through structured, study-supporting modules and a scientific thesis.

The program is a structured three-year full-time program. During the study and research period, doctoral researchers attend modules that support their studies and complete a scientific research thesis. Doctoral researchers conduct individual research within environmental and resource management while also joining an international and interdisciplinary group of doctoral researchers and researchers.

• A Master’s degree (or an equivalent degree) in the environmental field related to science, business, engineering, management, and environmental and planning law — or in a related field of applied chemistry or biotechnology
• Proof of sufficient English language skills
• A comprehensive research proposal
• Complete application documents

• TOEFL: at least 550 points (paper-based), 213 points (computer-based) or 79 points (internet-based)
• IELTS Academic (at least 6.5)
• Cambridge Advanced English Test or Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency (at least Grade B)
• UNICert Level II
