Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg offers a Chemistry – Master of Education Extension Subject. Students study chemistry as a supplementary subject, drawing course content primarily from the 50% Bachelor’s degree programme in Chemistry and components of the Master of Education degree programme in Chemistry.
The programme is structured around introductory and advanced courses in Inorganic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Physical Chemistry. It includes lectures, tutorials, seminars, laboratory practice, didactics modules with scientific content and practical exercises, and a module covering uses of digital teaching-learning formats. Students complete a Master’s thesis addressing a question from a specific branch of chemistry using scientific methods.
