About this program

Master of Education Quereinstieg Lehramt Gymnasium (Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen) is a Master programme for graduates of a Bachelor of Science without teaching-related components in one of the subjects Informatik, Physik, or Mathematik. It combines an Erstfach from the Bachelor of Science with a Zweitfach chosen from the remaining two subjects. In the Zweitfach, it includes subject foundations and methods competence, plus Fachdidaktik, and in the educational sciences it trains field-related competences.

The degree is structured mainly from compulsory modules with limited elective options. The 120 Leistungspunkte are distributed across Zweitfach, Fachdidaktik (1.+2. Fach), Bildungswissenschaften, Schulpraxissemester, and Masterarbeit. The programme also includes Fachdidaktik components and educational-science components that prepare competences for teaching later at the Gymnasium.
