Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg’s Master of Education Teaching Degree at Gymnasium Secondary Schools is a consecutive Master of Education for Jewish religious education, including specialised didactics and preparation for teaching. Students study Jewish religious education from antiquity to present-day streams and living worlds, alongside didactic and pedagogical skills.
The programme includes a specialised module, a blended module covering theory and methodology with specialised didactics, and a specialised didactics module. It also includes education studies, a school placement accompanied by courses from the specialised didactics module, and a Master’s thesis in one of the two subjects for the teaching degree.
Students can choose their other subject freely. The course prepares students for the teaching degree for Jewish religious education at Gymnasium secondary schools, and it requires a B.A. degree with 50% Jewish Studies with teaching degree option (or equivalent degrees).
