Germany Scholarship

Deutschlandstipendium is a scholarship for gifted and high-performing students at state-recognised universities in Germany. Fachhochschule Stuttgart, Hochschule der Medien (HdM) describes its purpose as supporting students based on grades, while also considering social and personal circumstances. The programme includes a matching feature: each euro contributed by private sponsors is increased by one additional euro from the federal government.

The scholarship is aimed at students enrolled at state-recognised universities in Germany. HdM states that selection considers not only grades, but also social engagement and special personal achievements, as well as the social and family situation. HdM positions the programme as involving collaboration between sponsors and scholarship holders.

HdM states that it conducts the public call and the subsequent selection procedure. HdM also indicates that contact between sponsors and scholarship holders, as well as regular exchange, can be part of the scholarship.

HdM states that the funding is 300 EUR per month, with 150 EUR covered by the federal government and the other 150 EUR covered by the sponsor. The support period lasts two semesters, corresponding to one year. HdM states that support begins at HdM in the usual way at the start of either the summer semester or winter semester.
