Germany DAAD PRIME Fellowship

DAAD PRIME is a highly competitive funding program for postdocs who plan their professional career in Germany. DAAD states that applicants with above-average qualifications from all faculties may apply and must have completed their doctorate with excellent results before the start of funding.

DAAD states there are no restrictions regarding nationality and current residency. Depending on nationality and place of residence, restrictions may apply when choosing the destination country for the stay abroad. DAAD’s application portal requires selecting the research subject and the country of the period abroad.

1. Use the DAAD application portal by selecting “Stipendiendatenbank für Deutsche.”
2. In the portal, fill in “Fachrichtung” (subject of your research) and “Zielland” (country of the period abroad) and select “Programme für: Promovierte.”
3. Register on the portal following the portal instructions; choose English as portal language and activate compatibility view if necessary; choose English as browser language.
4. After registration, click the tab “personal funding.”
5. Complete the application using the application form available in the application portal.
6. Submit a complete application on time so your potential host and prospective host university have enough time to issue an invitation and to complete form 1.
