Germany Hof University Scholarships for International Students

Hof University offers a limited number of scholarships for international students to help cover additional living expenses and study materials, including the Deutschlandstipendium. Hof University describes this support as being for highly talented students whose background and achievements promise strong performance in their studies and careers.

The Deutschlandstipendium provides €300 per month for at least one year, and ideally until the end of the regular study period. Hof University states that awards are granted independently of income and are open to students of all nationalities and backgrounds. Criteria include previous achievements and personal background, and also social commitment, willingness to take on responsibility, and special personal, social, or family circumstances.

Hof University states that international students must be enrolled as full-time students at Hof University for the respective semester, and scholarships for senior students are only available once students are officially enrolled. Applications are submitted via the online application form within the application period, and incomplete or late applications cannot be considered.

• International students must be enrolled as full-time students (exchange students are not eligible to apply) at Hof University for the respective semester.
• International students must be academically (previous examination performance) and personally qualified.
• Foreign students enrolled in Bachelor courses must have achieved a minimum of 90 ECTS to be eligible.
• Master students must have achieved a minimum of 30 ECTS at Hof University.
• International students must be a resident in Germany.
• International students in financial need will be favored; Hochschule Hof may at any time ask for proof of given information.
• Students receiving any additional public funding (e.g. BAföG, DAAD, Erasmus, any kind of governmental scholarship) for the same period of time cannot be considered and are exempted from this scholarship!
• Only students already enrolled at Hof University are eligible for these scholarships, and they are not granted prior to admission.
• Hof University also states that applicants can already apply for the Deutschlandstipendium as a study applicant (before enrollment).
