Germany Scholarship

Deutschlandstipendium at HafenCity Universität Hamburg (HCU) is offered through the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) and private sponsors. The stated purpose is to award the stipend at HCU based on the named selection criteria.

The scholarship is for all students of HCU. It is awarded based on performance, social engagement, and educational background (Bildungsbiographie).

Selection is made by a selection committee. The committee includes a chairperson or chair appointed from the Gleichstellungsbeauftragte, three members from the group of university professors (Hochschullehrerinnen und Hochschullehrer), one student, and up to two representatives of the private sponsors with an advisory vote.

The funding amount is €300 per month for a funding period of 2 semesters. The stipend purpose is not restricted (Verwendung des Fördergeldes: zweckgebunden? No). HCU indicates that students can apply again in spring, and submission deadlines and criteria are communicated in time on the HCU homepage and by email to all students.
