Hans-Peter Wild Scholarship , University of Heidelberg

Heidelberg University awards the Hans-Peter Wild Talent Scholarships, endowed with 1,000 € per month. The scholarships are awarded once a year, at the start of each winter semester, to highly gifted up-and-coming students from Germany and abroad who want to take a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the MINT field (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, technology) at Heidelberg University. Heidelberg University states that the aim is to support recipients ideally until the end of their studies.

Applicants must be applying for a Bachelor’s programme or a Master’s programme for a MINT subject for the first semester at Heidelberg University. The MINT subject must be studied with a share of at least 50%. Applicants must not yet have completed (or will not complete) a course of studies at Heidelberg University by the start of the respective winter semester. Applying for a scholarship and applying for enrolment are separate processes, and enrolment at Heidelberg University is a prerequisite for funding.

Heidelberg University states that the scholarships are awarded to “highly gifted up-and-coming students,” and that applications are assessed based on materials such as a statement of motivation, a curriculum vitae, recommendation letters, and evidence of MINT-related activities that may be considered in the selection process.

Heidelberg University states that the application is initially for a funding period of two semesters. The submission of documents is handled electronically via the online application portal during the application period. Feedback on the outcome of an application is expected to be sent at the end of September.

3. Complete the entire online application form, upload the required documents and certificates, and submit your complete application by the end of the application period at the latest.
